The most significant controversy unfolded between Malti Chahar and Tanya Mittal. During a heated argument, Malti accused Tanya of running a business selling “adult toys” while presenting a traditional image on screen. Malti’s attack was two-pronged, first questioning Tanya’s claims of a restrictive upbringing and then bringing up her online image, suggesting a hypocrisy between her social media posts in sarees and a previous lifestyle. The adult toy controversy was not Malti’s only misstep. She also attracted public anger for making an insensitive comment towards house captain Nehal Chudasama. During an argument, Malti told Nehal to “wear proper clothes before speaking” to her. The comment was instantly condemned by other housemates and viewers alike. Someone said that her behaviour was rude and unfair to women. Host Salman Khan reportedly reprimanded Malti for her derogatory remarks, adding to her negative public perception.

While Malti’s antics have cost her public favour, other contestants have seen their popularity soar. 

• According to the latest Week 8 rankings, the leaderboard has a new leader. Abhishek Bajaj, the actor known for his aggressive yet confident gameplay, has topped the list, proving that a strong presence can win over viewers.

• Baseer Ali, the former favourite, has slipped to the second position, with some fans criticising his recent moves.

• Farrhana Bhatt, the wild card contestant, who spent time in a secret room before re-entering with a mission, has impressively secured the third spot. Her strategic game is resonating with viewers who enjoy a calculating player.

• Gaurav Khanna and Amaal Mallik. These two popular faces round out the top five, maintaining a steady and loyal fanbase.

The verdict on Malti’s wild card move

Malti Chahar’s aggressive and confrontational approach, including the controversial adult toy accusation, was a risky game. While it certainly created drama and headlines, it ultimately alienated the very audience she was meant to entertain.
