A Blockbuster at the Box Office: ₹45-50 Crore on Day 02
Based on early estimates from Sacnilk, Kantara Chapter 1 brought in approximately ₹45 crore on its second day across all versions, as the Hindi version brought in ₹12-13 crore, according to Sacnilk.
This comes on the heels of a strong day one, as the first day estimate was around ₹61.85 crore, bringing the two-day total to approximately ₹106.85 crore, according to The Indian Express.
The film’s success is attributed to its compelling story, the actors’ strong performances, and the uptick due to its holiday release.
A Documentary Sensation
Kantara Chapter 1 has achieved not only a popular box office run but also has received critical acclaim across the subcontinent for its different story and cultural representation. This rapid success of Kantara emphasises the changing trend of audiences towards narratives that are more believable and regionally based.
The momentum of the film sets a new milestone for Kannada cinema and demonstrates the potential for regional films to achieve pan-Indian success.
