Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios Shines Bright, Crowned Miss Universe 2023 in Spectacular Event

In a dazzling event held at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador, Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios secured the coveted title of Miss Universe 2023. The grand occasion, hosted by Jeannie Mai and Olivia Culpo, witnessed Palacios being crowned by Miss Universe 2022, R’Bonney Gabriel.

The top 3 finalists for Miss Universe 2023 were announced as Thailand, Australia, and Nicaragua, adding to the suspense and excitement of the competition.

Palacios, bedecked in an embellished gown, became the first Nicaraguan woman to clinch the prestigious Miss Universe title. The audience erupted in applause as she took center stage to receive her crown.

The pageant showcased contestants from 90 countries, with Australia’s Moraya Wilson securing the second runner-up position and Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild being crowned the first runner-up. The 72nd Miss Universe marked a historic moment as Pakistan debuted in the competition.

Chandigarh-born Shweta Sharda represented India and made it to the top 20 finalists, adding to the diverse mix of global talents.

The 72nd Miss Universe pageant commenced with grandeur at 6:30 AM IST on Sunday, November 19. The event, featuring contestants from 90 countries, was hosted by an all-female team—Jeannie Mai, Olivia Culpo, and Maria Menounos—for the first time in the pageant’s history.
